If you haven't tried Wikipedia already. Go try it. Its like Google without the advertising. Well not really, but it is the largest free open source online encyclopedia. Instead of taking you to a result set it takes you to an article explaining the term with some useful links at the bottom the page. I use it more than Google lately.
