1.Purpose & Scope:
The eSourcing Lead Developer will be responsible for timely delivery of high quality modifications to the eSourcing system. Responsibilities will include designing solutions within the architecture, software industry norms and business practices and leading and participating in development. The Lead Developer will be responsible for establishing work estimates and schedules for themselves and other developers. The lead developer will also work closely with development and serve as the primary interface with the development organization.
Strong knowledge of System Development lifecycle methodologies and Object Oriented analysis, design and programming are required. Ability to work as a team member and organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with attention to detail a must.
2.Major Accountabilities:
Designing system modifications 30% of day
Developing system modifications 50% of day
Estimating work effort and identifying work schedules 20% of day
3.Education & Experience Required:
Strong knowledge of Object Oriented technology with at least 5+ years experience with programming in Java and C++.
Strong background in XML and a plus would be experience with STRUTS framework
Large development project experience especially with industrial strength package applications
Familiarity with Windows NT and Unix platforms. Knowledge of _JavaScript, HTML, DHTML a plus.
Proven skills and knowledge of all phases of systems development and maintenance lifecycle required, specifically Object Oriented development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment are critical to this role.
Strong critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills a must.
This position requires a self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize workload and solve problems. Also important is the ability to multi-task and maintain sufficient attention to detail.
4.Knowledge & Skills (COMPETENCIES) Required:
Knowledge of current technical trends in the S/W development industry like object-oriented programming, component engineering and web-based software.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and quickly understand and apply new business rules.
Ability to gather and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
Knowledge of heterogeneous platform integration (PCs, Unix)
Contributes to task identification, work effort estimates and work schedules for development and maintenance activities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other technical staff, vendors and users.
Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively with development partners.
