Jamais Cascio's The Participatory Panopticon Speech

2005-08-11 07:35:00
I listened to a really cool podcast yesterday from IT Conversations. It was a speech given by Jamais Cascio at the MeshForum 2005 conference. He talked about the Participatory Panopticon - a world where everyone is watched or being recorded all the time. He suggests as a culture we are moving in this direction due to the proliferation of cell phones and other devices that are always on and have the ability to record audio, video and photos. Agree or disagree with Jamais it will make you think about some of the legal and ethical issues we will face surrounding the evolution of these devices.

Link to the podcast page (Jamais Cascio - The Participatory Panopticon) on IT Conversations and to the full text of his speech.
