First Thoughts on Office 2007 and Internet Explorer 7

2007-01-31 07:27:00
As an Office power user... I can't stand the "ribbon" bar. I guess I will have to relearn the more obscure keyboard shortcuts so I can avoid using it. The Alt key functionality in IE7 is much better than the way Alt works in Office 2007. I think Microsoft is on the wrong track with removing the menus from IE and Office. After a week of using IE7, I finally made the switch to Firefox permanently. I wasn't happy that I had to use Alt + Home to get to my home page and F5 to refresh. I prefer having Home and Refresh buttons.

Also, in Access 2007 it is very unclear how to create an ADP project. The help page that you'll find on this is funny.
A quote from the document - The process for creating an Access project in Access 2007 is not as obvious as in earlier versions of Access.

If the ribbon bar interface is supposed to be so intuitive... how come I had to resort to Office Help to figure out how to do it?
