Browser Plug-in Patent Rant

2007-12-12 19:01:00
This is one of the few times I'll side with Microsoft on IP. I'm not a lawyer so take this all with a grain of salt. The concept of getting a patent on Browser Plug-ins is a joke. Microsoft should not have settled with Eolas. Here are the steps Microsoft should have taken to do the right thing and gained some good will in the Open Source community:
1) Buy the Eolas company.
2) Fire everyone.
3) "Burn" the patent or make it unenforcable.

This patent thing has gotten so out of control!
